Name: Raksys Region: The Great Shuduk Range Population: Medium-Low (Rare) Information: The Raksys is a pack animal, and travels in groups of 4-7 Raksys on average, plus children. There is an Alpha Raksys, whom is the largest and leads the pack, two Betas, whom are smaller than the Alpha, but still very large, and anywhere from 1-3 hunters, whom are the smallest, besides the children, in the pack, and are the quickest of the pack. An Alpha Raksys is a very cunning beast, and uses basic tactics to deal with larger prey. A Raksys can move in lava with no ill effects, and it's maw is hot enough to melt most metals. The Raksys reproduces asexually, and as such, one of the beasts being left after a hunt can result in a new pack coming into power a decade later, with all the benefits of that singular surviving Raksys. Raksys lay eggs in large underground pools of lava, and the eggs remain there for 6 months to a year before hatching. Packs are usually made from clutch mates, and they each have an instinctual response and feeling for when another of the pack is in danger. A Clutch of Raksys eggs can be up to 20 or so eggs, but about half of those are destroyed in the first 3 months, and the weakest of the surviving eggs will be eaten by their clutch mates. The one that eats the most will usually become the Alpha of the ensuing pack, and will have the power of all the Raksys it ate. A Raksys pack is a very dangerous foe indeed, because they have a telepathic communion as clutch mates that other pack animals would envy, This allows them to move in perfect synchronity with each other, allowing them to take down signigicantly larger foes than one would think. A fully grown Raksys can reach 7 feet in length and 4 feet in height. They weigh around 600 lbs.
