Personality
Loyal/Trustworthy: Loyalty goes a long way with Celia. When she trusts you and befriends you she will be one hundred percent loyal to you until the bitter end, like a family dog if you will. She will always be honest with you and you can trust that what she is saying is the truth. Celia will fight for her friends and family so if you want to piss her off bringing either of them up in an argument is one way to get stomped. She will always go to extreme lengths to help you. But, if you cross her, lie to her, or do something to the ones she loves then you are officially dead to her.
Stubborn/Hotheaded: Once Celia gets an idea in her head it's hard for anyone to change her ways. In most cases she is right so when she decides to go with something it's because she knows her way is the right way. She likes to get things done right the first time and she believes that she is the only one to do so. You can push her on certain things, but only for so long before she blows up on you. She has a short temper, it seems to be growing shorter, and she doesn't mind showing her crazy temper. Sometimes little things can get to her, sometimes it takes a lot to set her off, it just depends on the situation.
Driven: With her parents being members of the Council she has high standards to live up to, always has, and Celia doesn't mind. She likes the challenge and the idea of power infatuates her. Celia sees herself moving up in the Theylison quickly and taking command over those around her. Sometimes she imagines herself overthrowing the Empire and ruling all for herself, but that's a little farfetched even for her to think. Right now she is focused on mastering her magic abilities and improving her strength and agility to prove herself to the Emperor and move up in the ranks as quickly as possible.
Soft: She's a young Drow. Life has yet to harden her and make her angry at the world. Celia constantly wears a sweet smile and speaks to people with care, she believes that she should be nice to others until they give her a reason not to. She can be a little sensitive at times even though she refuses to let anyone know if they have struck a nerve, sometimes she feels that her soft and friendly side could be viewed as weak but she likes it that way...let them underestimate her.
Background
Light conversation and laughter could be heard at the entrance of the Dendar Commune, they were celebrating the confirmed pregnancy of their Commune leader's wife, G'eldda. Taloyss, the Commune leader, had wanted to keep his wife's pregnancy a secret until she was far enough along to tell, their past attempts at conceiving had failed and he didn't want his people to know until miscarriage was no longer a fear. With his wife's small belly stretching out and with the confirmation from the Shaman that the baby and his wife are healthy they deiced to let their clan in on the big secret. They all sat around a small fire in the large section of their mountain home and passed around large plates of food and pitchers full of drinks. G'eldda and Taloyss sat side by side with large smiles on their faces as they listened to the conversation around them.
“I’m so happy we are having a baby,” G'eldda said and smiled over at her husband. Taloyss nodded in agreement and took a celebratory drink from his mug. This was a happy time for everyone in the Commune, G'eldda’s baby would be the first one in a long time and everyone was hoping for a beautiful baby girl. As the night carried on the crowd started to dwindle down as everyone went to sleep for the night. Taloyss helped escort his wife to their section of the mountain to tuck her into bed for the night before heading out to stand guard for a few hours.
“Pregnancy fits you well my dear.” Taloyss wrapped his arms around her shoulders and squeezed her tightly. “Come now, off to bed, you need plenty of rest,” He commanded and gave her a swift pat on the rear. G'eldda laughed and shot her husband a playfully stern look as she slipped her silk dress off her shoulders.
“Wait,” Taloyss voice was riddled with panic as he said, “look down.” G'eldda furrowed her brow in confusion as she slowly looked down at her small round stomach. There on the middle of her stomach was what Taloyss dreaded that he would see, the Light Drow Mark. This mark was a sign of the Light Drow. All Light Drow were killed instantly after birth, no questions, no hesitations, they were murdered on spot. Why? The Light Drow are extremely powerful and the rest of the species fear that they would be too powerful to control, they view it as a disease, something horrible and typically they mother bearing this Light child is looked down upon. Taloyss refused to even consider letting this happen to his unborn child and the thought of having such a powerful kin was appealing to him. As he was buried deep in the thought he forgot all about his wife who was now panicking and trying to see her lower back and rambling on about what was going to happen.
“G’eldda, stop. I need you to relax and start packing, but pack light. You have the mark,” He confessed and looked down at his wife with sorrow filled eyes. She went to protest but he held up his hand to silence her.
“We are not killing our child. We will flee. I know it is not like us to run from things, but I will not fight off our entire Commune and kill those I love…including our child.” He gently placed his hands on his wife’s small round belly and closed his eyes tightly. This was his world and he would do everything to protect it.
“Wait a while and once you are certain everyone has gone to sleep sneak out of our secret passage way and come find me. I’ll be at the South end tonight. I must go. Start packing.” Taloyss kissed his wife passionately before leaving the room. G’eldda forced herself not to break down and start packing. She grabbed a change of clothes, some food, blankets and of course their weapons. She dressed herself in all black, braided her white hair and slipped her cloak on before quietly making her way toward the secret passageway out of the mountain.
“Taloyss,” G’eldda whispered as she rounded the side of the mountain. Taloyss wasted no time and quickly ran to his wife and told her about his plan. They would go to the Theysilon and sign their lives over to the Emperor and they could be safe with them. G’eldda didn’t think they plan would work the way that her husband thought it would but she was at a loss for any other ideas, so without another word she followed her love into the depths of the Peaks.
The journey to the Empire was not an easy task. With his wife being pregnant they had to make many stops to accommodate for her condition. They also had a few run ins with the other creatures that lived up in the Peaks and the fighting was draining on G’eldda, but she stayed strong. Once the Commune realized that their leaders had deserted them they began to search high and low in the Peaks to find them, it was like a giant game of hide and seek, but this time if they were found they would be killed. What the Dendar’s were doing was viewed as betrayal in the eyes of the Drow and they would not be satisfied until they had blood. What would typically be a three day journey had turned into a five day trip with how many times they had to stop for G’eldda, but that didn’t matter now, they were just a few short miles away from the entrance to the Empire. The two of them were crouched behind some brush as they watched a Theysilon patrol march back toward the Emperor’s gates.
“We can either take them or try and convince them we mean no harm, but considering what we are and what they are we are probably going to have to fight,” Taloyss warned his wife and rested his hand on his blade.
“Shall we? While we still have the element of surprise?” G’eldda asked and reached behind her back and grabbed an arrow and raised her bow. Taloyss nodded and leapt out from behind the bush just as his wife shot an arrow at the back of the soldier’s head. It quickly turned into a blood bath as the two Drow slaughtered all of the Theysilon soldiers, all but one.
“You’ll take us to see the Emperor now,” Taloyss said as his wife used her magic to bring the young man to them. “We do not wish the Emperor harm, we seek protection and in return offer our lives to serve the Empire.” He approached the young solider and placed a strong hand on his shoulder.
“You can either do it willingly or I will have my wife enter your mind and force you to,” Taloyss offered and looked over to G’eldda. She looked exhausted, hopefully she had enough strength left in her to do the job if the solider decided to be a hero today.
“I refuse,” The young man said and held his head high.
“Fine,” G’eldda growled and switched her focus onto entering the man’s mind. She knew they would have to hurry as she could feel her energy quickly draining and she knew Taloyss could tell as well and with that the three of them quickly ventured off to the Empire’s gates. The second they set foot in the gates they were rushed to see the Emperor.
“And that is why we are here. We will serve you until our last dying breath,” Taloyss finished their story and turned to look at his wife who smiled back at him.
“I’m not sure that is enough…what of this child of yours? The Light Drow.” The Emperor asked and raised his brows.
“She will live to serve you as well, My Lord, and serve any other Emperor after you until her dying breath. Our family will forever be loyal to the Empire,” G’eldda spoke quickly before Taloyss could fire something back at the Emperor. She knew that this was the best chance her child had at surviving and having a life that wasn’t running and hiding all the time. The Emperor agreed and took in the Dendar family. The parents moved up quickly and became part of the Council and shortly after their beautiful baby girl was born and any fear of their daughter being in danger was gone.
